Statement

At the beginning there is always the restlessness that I instinctively associate with a particular fabric.
From there, the definition of the form starts, sometimes preceded by a sketch, other times simply drawn from a thought, from a mental image.
It is an act similar to digging, for me: I look for the bottom of the lived, of existences, of material and concrete things.
I focus, then, on the embellishment of form; a process of addition (pearls, shells, lace, wool, details) that reflects the staging, the spectacle of bodies and essences.
I favor instinctual flow, attempting limited interference with decisions aimed at the exclusion or inclusion of a fabric, an element, a form.
I focus on the naturalness of such research, that is, on the perennial contrast between presence and absence that deadstock fabric generates even before it is worked.
